Shanghai-style puppetry merges the merits of Chinese and foreign performing arts, establishing a distinctive style based on traditional rod puppets and other kinds of Chinese puppetry. Performed by the Shanghai Puppets Thertre, Shanghai-style puppetry was enrolled in the third batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2011.
