Celadon Ou Music is the modern evolution of ancient rhythms, from the sounds of striking earthen jars to the delicate melodies of ceramic bowls and water-filled cups. This art form uses instruments and vessels crafted from ceramic clay to create orchestrated performances, with the iconic “Yue Ou” (celadon bowls from the Yue Kiln) as the lead instrument. Flourishing during the Tang and Song dynasties alongside the prosperity of the Yue Kiln, this enchanting musical tradition captivated hearts for centuries. Now, as the new member of “Baby Enjoys Intangible Cultural Heritage” series, the Cixi Celadon Music Ensemble is ready to introduce kids to the unique charm of Celadon Music! Enjoy mesmerizing compositions like “Spring Dawn”, “Drawing Dew”, and “Yue Celadon Breeze”, specially created by renowned Chinese composers to highlight the distinctive tones of Celadon music. Children will also love familiar favorites like “Jasmine Flower”, “Tea Picking Dance”, and “Oh! Susanna”. Witness a showcase of traditional ceramic instruments, including porcelain chime bells, ceramic tubular bells, Ou plates, and Ou bowls—each reflecting the rich heritage of Chinese culture.
