Shenzhen Puppet Art Theatre presents the puppet monodrama Riding Alone, which condenses the growth journey of contemporary puppet performers and the processes of learning, practicing, and passing on the art onto the stage. Through Guan Yu’s heroic deeds of "swearing brotherhood in the Peach Garden, traveling a thousand miles alone, and overcoming five passes and slaying six generals," as well as a series of vivid puppet performances, the production not only narrates personal experiences but also showcases the protagonist’s inner struggles, personal growth, and the mentorship bond between puppet artists.

A single puppet performer，Hong Jindiao manipulates over 20 puppets across four major categories (string puppets, rod puppets, shadow puppets, and hand puppets), bringing them to life with vibrant and dynamic expressions. The unique Minnan singing style and exquisitely carved puppet props, combined with modern music and lighting, create a stage brimming with creativity, offering the audience an audio-visual feast that transcends time and space.
