The legendary violinist Ryu Goto is visiting “Big Whale” this fall with classical pieces. Ryu is a one hundred percent talent in the classical music circle. He is the synonym of “all around” and “perfect”. Ryu started violin practice at the age of three and his career began at the age of seven when he made his debut. Since then, Ryu has appeared as a soloist with many of the world's leading orchestras, including New York Philharmonic, London Philharmonic etc. He has worked with composers including Joe Hisaishi, Tan Dun, Chen Gang, Ye Xiao Gang, etc. Besides music talent, he is versatile, graduated from Harvard University with a BA in Physics and holding a 3rd degree black belt from the Japan Karate Association. Ryu’s philanthropic work includes working with student musicians throughout the world, mentoring their development and conducting master classes in conjunction with the world’s top institutions. Ryu Goto comes from a legendary family. His sister Midori is a world prominent violinist and his mother Setsu Goto is a violin educator.
